Bonnie’s Picks: 3 Necessities for the Party-Ready Backyard

Posted on Jun 8, 2012 | No Comments

I hate to break it to you, but if you whip out your blue igloo tub or giant red cooler on wheels for backyard BBQs, you’re a bit behind the times… These days there are so many cool, well-designed party products (at affordable prices) that you have no excuse to be using outdated party gear any longer!

Now, if you’re going only going to buy only one new thing this summer, make it the Cool Bar. The Cool Bar is a cooler, cocktail table and coffee table in one. It can hold up to 48 beers or a dozen chilled wines. I just got one myself, and can attest to them being incredibly easy to assemble. The come in white & black. Get yours here >

My next favorite item is Govino glasses, designed by a really neat guy in St. Helena, CA — because you know how crazy wine country people are about wine and pool safety! (Seriously — there’s nothing worse than having to empty your bool because someone broke a glass in it.)

Govino glasses are made from BPA-free polymer, which reflects a wine’s color and aromatics much like crystal. The come in two sizes — 16oz wine glass and 8oz champagne flute. Get yours here >

Finally, if you’re using your Govino glasses to drink wine outside, you want to keep it chilled right? Well that’s where the Corkcicle comes in handy. A practical way to keep your wine chilled without getting the ice bucket out, the Corkcicle is made of plastic and keeps your wine chilled from the inside — for 45 minutes.

I tried mine out and it worked perfectly with a nice bottle of Rose that my friend Marilyn gave me. (Thanks Marilyn!) Get yours here >

Now, let’s party!
